For 2021 we really wanted to embrace the concept of our homes being our sanctuary. We're spending so much time indoors that it made sense to put our energy into sourcing beautiful products that will enhance our living space with little effort.
We have taken inspiration from the Nordic approach to creating homes that both soothe and nurture. The look is defined by clean lines and chic minimalism with an emphasis on natural materials and is actually, surprisingly easy to create.
You can browse our stunning collection which includes pieces from Scandinavian favourite House Doctor here.
In the meantime, here are a few pointers fro creating a the Neutral Nordic style we love so much:
Colour is key - to being your design to life keep things light and airy, go heavy on neutral shades and keep things tonal. Lick is a great place to find inspiring colour palettes.
Go for icy blues, soothing greens and pale pinks for a splash of colour.
Clean lines - simple shapes and furniture with clean lines play an important role in bringing this look together (think Ikea) Artisanal furniture plays a big part in this look but if your budget is limited then make sure there are plenty of natural materials and textures in your accessories. Include a couple of vintage pieces as well if you can, it will really help to lift your scheme and add interest.
Add warmth - Homemaking and channelling that hygge vibe is what this look is all about, to that end, pay close attention to the details. Add warmth using natural materials, textiles and lots of texture, this way you will avoid creating a stark looking space. Rugs, plush throws and cushions and candles. Not forgetting plants and other botanical details such as dried flowers and grasses which are great for creating a sense of wellbeing.
