Keep On Keeping On has been my motto since I started Tailor Made Living, it's seen me through some tough times and now, with the advent of Covid-19 it seems more appropriate than ever.
After years of battling self-doubt I took the plunge and started my own business. I was so worried about all the things I didn't know and the emotional rollercoaster, especially in the first few months, really took its toll on me.
During this period I tuned into lots of podcasts and read any articles I could get my hands on about business founders and leaders. Soon a pattern began to emerge: that almost everyone without exception had really struggled at one time or another but the ones who 'made it' were the ones who stuck it out.
Some came really close to losing it all (Johnnie Boden, Holly Tucker) others had to deal with life-changing health issues (Jo Malone, Jo Tutchener-Sharp) but they managed to get up after having the stuffing knocked out of them and worked out a way forward. I found this so inspirational that it has become my mantra. No matter how bad things get, in any area of life I know we will come out the other side.
It's important to hold on to hope, things will always improve. Whether you're starting a new job, a new business venture, perhaps you are a new parent or your studies are getting on top of you. Whatever you have going on Keep On Keeping On. Find new ways to do things, be adaptable, give yourself and break. We can do this.
So..... this is the background to my #keeponkeepingon campaign. I enlisted the help of Danielle from The Room Alive to help me bring my ideas to life in the summer of 2019 and I can't tell you why but I have been sitting on this campaign for about 6 months. I kept putting it off (I am not sure why) and then the outbreak of Coronavirus convinced me that I had to share this positive message with the world.
It's bleak out there, the news is frightening, we will suffer loses one way or another. There will be good days and bad but the chinks of light and goodwill stories are out there and we must hold on to them. Just keep on keeping on, we can get through this.
