This refreshing cocktail recipe popped up on my instagram feed a few years ago and I felt compelled to make it right away. Suffice to say I’ve made it a thousand times since, it’s absolutely gorgeous, the ideal tipple on hot summer days.
You can make this a virgin cocktail by substituting the gin for a non-alcoholic spirit such as Seedlip.
Prepare to make another one quickly as these are very moreish!
- 1 shot of gin
- 2 shots of non-alcoholic spirit such as Seedlip
- About 8 basil leaves (and one to decorate if you’re feeling fancy)
- Grapefruit juice about 60ml* to save time I use shop bought from M&S
- A handful of ice cubes
- Sugar to taste if required
Add ice cubes, basil leaves, grapefruit juice, sugar if you are having it and your spirit to a cocktail shaker. Pop on the lid and give it a really good shake!
If you have one, use a cocktail strainer to pour out the liquid into a gorgeous glass, catching everything else. Garnish with a basil leaf and serve. Cheers!
