5 tips for successful tray styling

5 tips for successful tray styling

I do love a bit of tray styling. The one featured in this post lives in our family room. There's something very grown-up about styling a coffee table and it really helps to add a sophisticated final touch to a room.

If you have small children and you are thinking 'there's no way I can have anything like that in my house' you are probably right, but why not style the top of a chest of drawers or a dresser instead? I promise you the effect is the same and all your goodies will be safely stored away from little hands.

Here are my tray styling tips for anyone keen to have a go:

1. Split the tray into sections and take one section at a time. It simplifies the process.
2. Choose a colour scheme
3. Build height with books / magazines stacked in a pyramid style
4. Top the books with an accessory, plant or flower
5. Fill the blank areas with smaller accessories such as candles, matches and coasters for example.

If you feel inspired to do a bit of tray styling yourself tag me in your post so I can share it!
